Basic Cardiac Electrophysiology for the Clinician
Published in Hardcover by Futura Pub Co (November, 1998)
Average review score:

Excellent !Jose Jalife is one of the few people who feel equally at home with both the experimental and computational aspects of cardiac electrophysiology research. He has been author or co-author of numerous well-cited papers in this area. This book not only gives a very good overview of the present state-of-the-art in cardiac electrophysiology, but also contains a lot of the findings of his group - especially on the role of nonlinear dynamics in cardiac arrhythmias. As such the title is too modest - it is not only the clinician who will benefit from reading the book, but also people involved in computational modeling of the heart. For people coming from outside physiology into this area (e.g., I come from physics), this book will be very helpful in giving them a crash course on the essentials of cardiac electrophysiology. The chapters I found especially relevant were: Chapter 4 ("Propagation through cardiac muscle") which gives a clear account of how ionic currents that move across a specified patch of membrane lead to propagation along the membrane so that the electric signal originated at one site can spread from cell to cell to induce the electrical activation of the entire heart (covers cable equations, "safety factor", anisotropic propagation, 2D and 3D propagation, etc); Chapter 6 ("Rate dependency of discontinuous propagation") which discusses the dynamics and ionic mechanisms of complex patterns of propagation (e.g., Wenckebach periodicity); Chapter 7 ("Basic mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmias") which deals with cellular mechanisms of arrhythmias and discusses in detail arrhythmias observed in clinical settings (e.g., ischemia, long QT syndrome, etc); Chapter 8 ("Spiral wave activity: a new lok at the old problem of reentry") which is really the icing on the cake. This is (at present) the only book aimed at the medical community which deals with the topic of spiral waves at such depth - and makes it clear why nonlinear dynamics is relevant to current research in cardiac arrhythmias. All in all it's a book well worth having for one's personal research reference library on cardiac electrophyiology.
The Most AffordableThe "Basic Cardiac Electrophysiology for the Clinician" book is a very affordable book, packed with information about all of the components of electrocardiology and electrophysiology. It is obviously a best buy for anyone needing information on electrophysiology.
Excellent reviewExcellent review that comes from the authorities of EP who wrote Electrophysiology from cell to bedside. a great book for the clinician

Delmar's NCLEX-RN Review
Published in Paperback by Delmar Learning (10 September, 1999)
Average review score:

I passedI purchased this book along with the Kaplan NCLEX-RN review and thought both were great. This is the best book that I have found for content. I felt so prepared to take the NCLEX that I took it two weeks after I graduated and passed with the minimum number of questions. I recommend this book to anyone.
The best book that helps me to pass RN ExamI read this book twice, and it was really helpful for me, especially:
-Drug and nursing implications unit
-Very good easy reading materials
-8 very good review tests.

Get this product.Get this product if you want to enjoy Premiere more than you do now. Mark is an excellent instructor and you will love your training. You will look forward to playing the C.D.Valuable tips on superimposing are included. You will come to love the "s-tracks" because of the case studies on the C.D. You will become a "super-superimposer." I have absolutely no reservations about endorsing this training C.D.I got a lot out of it.
Easiest and fastest way to learn the program.Awesome! - Three thumbs up. I am an Adobe instructor and digital graphics professional. This CD is the easiest way to learn the program. It is clear, evenly paced and leaves nothing out. Unlike training videos, the CD is interactive giving you total access to any feature of the program you need to learn quickly. Each lesson is a short movie that can be stopped and started so you can go back and forth to review. You can also have the lesson AND the program open simultaneously, allowing you to switch back and forth to practice. It is the best training source there is. I require all my students to buy the CD as their text for the semester. If you really want to learn the program quickly and efficiently; this is the only choice. Firefighter's Handbook: Essentials of Firefighting and Emergency Response
Published in Paperback by Delmar Learning (06 January, 2000)
Average review score:

This is a well thought out bookThis is a great improvement over the standard Essentials of Firefighting put out by IFSTA. The writing is better, the graphics are outstanding and there is great background information on each subject.
If you just want a textbook, purchase the IFSTA book. If you are interested in really reading and grasping the essentials then purchase this encyclopedia of knowledge and insight.

Firefighters Handbook:Essentials of Firefighting and EmergenThis book is much better than the IFSTA Essentials Manual. It does a better job on all the topics and also includes responses to Haz Mat and WMD incidents. No need to purchase another book. Excellent!

A fascinating chronicle of Delmar Benjamin's Gee Bee replicaThe construction and flying performance of a near-exact replica of a 1932 Gee Bee R-2 -- one of the most loved and loathed of the Golden Age air racers. This book debunks the myths and reveals the facts surrounding the Granville Brothers stubby little racer.

Illustrator 7

Average review score:

It's almost like having a personal tutorThis cd is so much better than training yourself by reading book on the subject. The course is clear and easy. And the narrator's voice is not irritating at all. (he also doesn't make stupid jokes that some authors like to stick in their books to make them lengthier.

Building Construction for the Fire Science, 3E
Published in Hardcover by Delmar Learning (30 August, 2001)
Average review score:

THE book for the Fire Service. This should be required reading for anyone in the fire service who deals with Structural fire fighting. The book is pretty straight forward and in an easy to read font. I love this book. It also has a pretty decent index if you're using it for school. Out of all the books I've had to buy for school so far, this is the best one. If you're a fan of Brunacini, you may find a few points where they disagree, thus creating the great debate between which author is right. The principles of this book are easily put to use in day to day firefighting and could possibly save your life.
Must Read For All Fire PersonnelThis is not an easy reading book. Dry and distant at times it is however the finest collection of fire dept related constrution information ever collated. Whether you like it or not you MUST read this book. The information within could make the difference when your backs against the wall.
Important information for all firefightersThis book is essential for all firefighters to read, and a MUST for all fire officers! If you want to know anything about building construction for the fire service...Brannigan has the answer.
